Documents Needed For Weddings:  

• The following applies to non-Dominican nationals wishing to get married in the Dominican Republic.  

Guests who have never been married before:  

• Original birth certificate or legalized copy of original translated into Spanish  

• Notarized declaration of single status or copy of original translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Embassy or Consulate  

• Name change document, if necessary  

• Copy of couple's passports or driver's license or copy of original only  

• Copy of witnesses' passports or driver's license  

Guests who have been married before:  

• Birth certificate (only translation required), copy of original and translated into Spanish  

• Notarized declaration of single status or copy of original, translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Embassy or Consulate  

• Divorce judgment  

• Name change document, if necessary  

• Copy of couple's passports or driver's license or copy of original only  

• Copy of witnesses' passports or driver's license  

• The couple must bring all original documents. If all documents have to be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate or Embassy in their home country, see above. (The Consulate or Embassy charges for these services).

• The couple needs to be in the Dominican Republic 48 hours prior to the wedding date.

• In case of a prior marriage the divorce process has to be completed 6 months before the remarriage.  

• Relatives cannot be witnesses.  

• The wedding or renewal fee and service charge has to be paid to the wedding coordinator.  

• The marriage certificate will be sent through a courier service to the couple's mailing address.  

• Services such as extra flowers, DJ services and pictures that are not included in any of the packages have an additional cost.  

• In the event of bad weather, the wedding will not be canceled, it will be moved to a backup location.
